Since the time of JMD Bousquet, this Boisden/Franciou road was constructed and since then no attention has been given to it.
The residents about one hundred or more, have been clamouring for assistance to 'Fix De Road.'
Well don't know if you want to call it coincidence or whatever, but the son is on the ball. Over 300 meters of road and drainage will be competed in the next two to three weeks.
Ten separate contractors have been employed to take care of the rehabilitation of the almost abandoned road.
Previously mini buses plying this route dreaded this road and had to drop the passengers along the main road. This will be no more, soon.
There are a number of other projects underway stretching from La Pointe to Saltibus which will be highlighted on this blog as they progress.
Bousquet working to put Choiseul first.
"Choiseul On The Move" was created to inform Choiseulians here and abroad as well as other interested readers bout the developments - political, social, educational and any other topics of interest happening in the district.

La Maze to get a drive way
Residents of upper La Maze have from times asking for some form of roadway to their homes. They have over the years trodded a narrow and muddy footpath to and from their homes. This could not be allowed to happen endlessly.
At a recent visit to the community Rufus met with the affected residents to come up with a solution to ease this situation. At that small townhall type meeting the residente decided on a driveway.
That decision was taken because some of the residents are presently renovating their home and would appreciate if the vehicle transporting the materials could land the stuff near the site.
This surely will remind readers of the Morne Sion project.
The La Maze project has been inspected by a team of contractors and is estimated to cost about $30,000.00.
The project should commence sometime next week and should last five to eight days max.
Many of the residents will be directly involved in the project.
Bousquet once again improvimg the standard of living for his people.

St. Lucia's Attorney General has been launched
Yes, it was a massive show of force for Doddy. St.Lucians, braving the inclemency of the weather turned out in thousands to launch Lorenzo “Doddy” Francis in the Culdesac Valley on Sunday February 6, 2010.
The Choiseul contingency headed by Rufus Bousquet rolled into the launch area with a motorcade of about thirty seven vehicles including buses, trucks, cars and motorcycles.
The immediate area of the launch was a sea of soggy ground with small pools of water here and there. The area was recently graded and the intermittent showers saturated the soil thus making the ground very muddy.
But wait! That did not deter the supporters, because mud or rain one could see persons braving these elements to head to the main stage area.
All members of the party were present with the exception of Janine, whom as this post is being written, heard “Jouk Bois” say that she has resigned from the party. One could sense an aura of confidence among the occupants on the stage as speaker after speaker confirmed the audience’s hope, that UWP will win the next general elections. Spider was rather forceful as he tore to shreds a number issues which the leader of the opposition mentioned sometime ago….one being the calling of elections on its anniversary.
Rufus, on the stage, was cool and collected and in his delivery, lending support to Mr. Francis, informed the gathering that he once told Robert Lewis “Doddy” will send him home.
Lorenzo “Doddy” Francis was the man of the moment as introductions by both his wife and daughter gave credence to the man. Mr. Francis in culminating his speech closed by saying, “Doddy, gets it done.”
The general atmosphere at the rally was one of joy, comradry and the impending hope of a UWP victory at the next elections constitutionally due no later by March 2012.
The gathering at the rally looked more less like about six to seven thousand making Pep’s launch look like a house party, so said an Anse la Raye supporter.
Another supporter from Gros Islet injected, “If St. Lucians can brave this inclement weather, and wade in this mud to hear their representatives, this sends a strong message to Labour, they have no chance.”
Ricky T provided much entertainment for the massive crowd; off and on using his versility to merge a little politics in his repertoires. These was humorously received by everyone.
No incidents were reported to have happened and everyone got home in one piece. Bravo to everyone.
Seeing the reactions of the supporters of Labour in certain pockets in the community of Choiseul, as Sunday's motorcade rolled through the district on its way to Culdesac, it left me to reflect a little, and left a question which still lingers on my mind. Are the majority of Labourites in this district noisy and insultive persons, who tackle the supporters of the opposite side on their personal business rather than political issues? Was it meant to be so, or did 'Choiseul Labour' design it to be so? Food for thought? The video below is a clip of Ricky T.
Please take the poll on the right. Thank you.

Is "Character assassination" a campaign strategy for Labour?
Reports/rumours reaching this blog suggests that the campaign strategy for labour is to try to assassinate Bousquet's character up to the next general elections. Their aim is to tell Choiseulians how much of a criminal that Bousquet is. We also learnt that this plan was orchestrated by the top brass of their campaign team. We at this blog are not in a position to prove or disprove these reports.
Is this all labour has to fight Rufus with for the upcoming elections? Wow! This will not work. There is nothing new that can be said about the man that we don't know. Rufus will be campaigning strictly on his "RECORD OF PERFORMANCE" which labour cannot touch.
It will be interesting for Choiseulians to hear what it is that the Labour's candidate can bring to the table that Bousquet have not brought. Bousquet's performance in the constituency have surpassed every politician that has represented this district over the years. We dare the other side disprove this claim. Bousquet will, after the next election take Choiseul to a higher level... especially in the economic sphere. Keep your eyes peeled.
Bousquet's campaign will not be dragged down in to a mud slinging and smearing contest. No way! Bousquet has shown his worth and will maintain a standard, and the people will make the right choice.
We have also learnt that the labour's campaign team has a team of lawyers on the ground monitoring Choiseulians to have them face the courts if anyone speaks about the alleged mishap that the labour candidate had with a female. Is this aiming at silencing us Choiseulians? Are we going back to the communist days? What is there to lose, that fear must be instilled in potential voters?
Choiseulians, except during the 1997 elections campaign, have never known intimidation and this time around they will stand up.
Bousquet's campaign has always been clean and simple... never searched for big guns to assist and never went around dishing cash to get votes. This is what makes his campaign stand above the other side's... simple and local people doing simple things to achieve success.
Let's hope good sense prevails and both side demonsrate a sense competitiveness, reponsibility and respect for each other.

One hundred and eight (108) persons took the poll which was displayed over this blog for a about three weeks. Mac captured 44% of the votes cast while Jonathon Chalon was Mac's closest rival and could only muster 14% of the votes cast. The other persons in the poll were Clara Edward, a retired Primary school principal and community worker, Hubert King a retired Secondary school principal, an MBE awardee and community worker, Jonathan Chalon, the president of the National Youth Council, sports organisor and teacher, Williana St. Rose, Village Council Clerk and Rufus Bousquet, District Parliamentary Representative.
The pattern of voting fluctuated consistenly as it appeared to the staff of the blog that person's were changing their previous choices.
A complete write-up of Mac's work in the district over the past year will be published soon. Up to the posting of this article Mac could not be contacted.
