The Heartless Reality: Roblot's Soulless Community

Did the Roblot Community let down one of its own? This haunting question echoes through the pathways and concreted-roads of the upper part of Roblot, piercing through the silence like a dagger of guilt. Last Sunday's events have unearthed a chilling truth: Roblot has lost its soul.

Picture this scene: a middle-aged man, fallen by the roadside, bleeding and unconscious after a simple stumble. As he lay there, abandoned by fate, not a single soul from his own bloodline rushed to his aid. Reports speculate that he may have had a drink or two, but does that diminish his humanity? Absolutely not.

What stings the most is the apathy shown by his own kin. His brothers, pillars of the community, turned a blind eye to his suffering. One, a respected figure, chose indifference over compassion. Another, affluent and self-proclaimed pious, found it convenient to ignore the cries for help. Is this the conduct of Christian values they so proudly proclaim?

It took the intervention of a stranger, a non-relative, to summon an ambulance to the forsaken man's side. And even then, not a single family member bothered to offer information or support. The callousness displayed is not just disheartening; it's abhorrent.

In a community that prides itself on camaraderie and neighborly love, this incident serves as a grim reminder of our collective failure. Where is the empathy that once defined us? Where is the sense of duty towards our own flesh and blood?

Roblot's descent into soullessness is not an isolated incident but a symptom of a deeper malaise. It's a stark reminder that wealth and status mean nothing when devoid of humanity. As we grapple with the aftermath of this tragedy, let it serve as a wake-up call—a call to reclaim the compassion and solidarity that once defined us.

Let us not forget the man abandoned by the roadside, for his plight mirrors our own collective loss of soul. It's time to introspect, to rebuild, and to reaffirm our commitment to each other as a community. For only then can we hope to rediscover the soul of Roblot

A Critical Look at Sir Calixte George's Racial Rhetoric

Sir Calixte George's recent remarks suggest a failure to transcend the specter of racism, despite his age and extensive experience. Having resided and worked in predominantly black Caribbean nations, one would expect a nuanced understanding of the past without succumbing to its shackles. However, his diatribe seems more aligned with a divisive political agenda than genuine discourse.

The pivotal role of tourism in the region necessitates a forward-looking approach, yet Sir George's tirade appears rooted in antiquated grievances. By reducing complex issues to a simplistic narrative of racial animosity, he undermines legitimate concerns and perpetuates a cycle of distrust.

It's disheartening to witness Sir George's descent into partisan politics, forsaking the intellectual diversity he likely encountered during his academic pursuits. Rather than engaging in constructive dialogue on pressing national issues, he opts for inflammatory rhetoric that serves only to deepen societal rifts.

Moreover, Sir George's selective silence on systemic challenges facing the nation raises questions about his motives. By sidestepping discussions on healthcare, crime, infrastructure, and corruption, he exposes his complicity in deflecting attention from governance failures.

In the midst of mounting criticism, Sir George's allegiance to the Labour Party and personal vendettas outweighs his commitment to genuine progress. His silence speaks volumes, revealing a willingness to sacrifice integrity for political expediency.

In conclusion, Sir Calixte George's recent outbursts highlight the danger of weaponizing race for political gain. Rather than fostering unity and addressing substantive issues, he perpetuates division and distraction. It's time for Sir George to reassess his priorities and engage in meaningful dialogue for the betterment of all.

NO SMILES WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!

The Forgotten Communities of Choiseul/Saltibus are drowning in disillusionment, gasping for a breath of competent representation. We reminisce about the days when JMD Bousquet and Gilbert Mason graced our political landscape, providing a glimmer of hope and genuine concern for our welfare. But what about now? From Brian Charles to Bradley Felix, each representative seems to be a mere shadow of what true leadership should be.

Drive through Choiseul Village, wander through Roblot, La Maze, Debreuil, or Rivere Doree — do you see anything worth smiling about? The answer is a resounding no. Unemployment grips our youth like a vice, squeezing the life out of their aspirations. Parents struggle to scrape together enough to send their children to school, facing the cruel reality of financial hardship. Where is the beacon of hope in all of this despair? Nowhere to be found.

The government introduced the Youth Employment Program, a lifeline for our struggling young people. Yet, our representative failed to lift a finger to guide them through the bureaucratic maze, leaving them stranded with dashed hopes and unfulfilled dreams. Can they muster a smile in the face of such negligence? Absolutely not.

And what about the Roblot multi-purpose center, standing idle like a monument to broken promises? Constructed in early 2023, it serves as a painful reminder of our representative's ineptitude. We're left in the dark, wondering when, if ever, it will be handed over to the community. Is this a situation that warrants a smile? Hardly.

The smiles have vanished from the faces of our youth, our elders, our workers, our families — from every corner of The Forgotten Communities. Is there a glimmer of hope on the horizon? Perhaps, but until then, we remain in a state of perpetual disillusionment, yearning for the day when genuine leadership will bring back the smiles we've lost. So, does our representative have anything to smile about? Maybe he'll find solace in this article or the blue sky above, but for us, the sky seems perpetually gray.
